The ICT London Killzone is one of the most important trading windows in forex. This is where the market usually delivers its cleanest moves, biggest liquidity sweeps, and strongest intraday trends especially for traders in your timezone.
The London Killzone is not the entire London session. It's a specific 4-hour window where smart money becomes highly active: 02:00 AM – 05:00 AM New York time.
This is when European banks and institutions begin entering positions. Liquidity floods the market, spreads tighten, and major forex pairs start moving aggressively.
If you trade Smart Money Concepts (SMC), this window matters more than most of the trading day.
But here's the problem:
Most traders in your country don't know when the London Killzone starts in their own timezone.

How to Trade the London Killzone
The London Killzone is where some of the cleanest ICT setups appear. But the biggest mistake traders make is entering before liquidity gets taken.
Step 1: Identify Key Liquidity Areas
Before London opens, mark out:
- Asian session highs and lows
- Yesterday's high and low
- Equal highs and lows
- Trendline liquidity
- Previous day liquidity pools
These are the areas smart money usually targets first.
Step 2: Wait for the Liquidity Sweep
As London opens, price will often attack those liquidity zones first.
This is where most retail traders get trapped.
Examples:
- Price sweeps Asian highs → then drops
- Price sweeps Asian lows → then rallies
- Fake breakout forms → then reverses hard
Don't chase the first move.
Wait for confirmation.
Step 3: Wait for Market Structure Shift
After liquidity gets swept, watch for a change in market structure.

After the CHOCH forms, wait for price to retrace into:

These pairs usually experience the highest volatility during the London session.
The Judas Swing
The Judas swing is the fake move that happens at the start of the London Killzone. It's called "Judas" because it betrays traders who follow it.
How it works:
In the first 15-30 minutes of the killzone, price often moves in the OPPOSITE direction of the real daily move. This fake move:
- Grabs liquidity above or below the Asian range
- Traps early entry traders
- Gives smart money the orders they need to push price the other way
What to do:
Don't trade the first move of London. Let the Judas swing complete. Wait for the liquidity sweep + CHoCH, then enter in the real direction.
If the daily bias is bullish, expect the Judas swing to drop first. If bearish, expect a fake rally first.
The Silver Bullet Window
The Silver Bullet is a specific timing-based entry model that works within the killzone.
London Silver Bullet timing: 03:00 AM – 04:00 AM New York time
During this one-hour window, you look for a single Fair Value Gap that forms after the Judas swing / liquidity grab. You enter on the FVG and target the next liquidity pool.
Why it works:
- Liquidity has already been swept (fuel is loaded)
- Direction is confirmed by market structure
- The FVG represents displacement (institutional commitment)
- One-hour window keeps you disciplined
The Silver Bullet also works during the New York Killzone between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM NY time. Same rules, different session.
London vs New York Killzone
Both killzones deliver high-probability setups, but they behave differently.
London Killzone:
- Often sets the daily direction
- Sweeps Asian range liquidity
- Tends to create the day's high or low
- Often continues the London move OR reverses it
- Sweeps London session liquidity
- Creates the other extreme of the daily range
Many traders pick one session and master it. If you're trading from Africa, Europe, or the Middle East, the ICT London Killzone timing is more practical since it falls in the early morning hours. If you're in the Americas, the New York Killzone may suit your schedule better.
