Pip Value Calculator
Calculate what 1 pip is worth in your account currency for any pair and lot size.
How Pip Value is Calculated
The pip value tells you how much money you make or lose for each pip the market moves. It depends on three things: the currency pair, your lot size, and your account currency.
For pairs where USD is the quote currency (EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD), 1 pip always equals $10 per standard lot. For pairs where USD is the base or neither currency (USDJPY, EURJPY, GBPCHF), the pip value changes with the exchange rate and is calculated using live market data.
Enter your lot size and pair to see the exact pip value. Optionally add entry and exit prices to see the total value of that move.
How to Use This Calculator (Worked Example)
Scenario: You are trading 0.50 lots of GBP/USD and want to know how much each pip is worth, plus the value of a 30-pip move.
Step 1: Select GBP/USD as your currency pair
Step 2: Enter 0.50 as your lot size
Step 3: The calculator shows your pip value: $5.00 per pip
Step 4 (optional): Enter entry price 1.2700 and exit price 1.2730
Result: The distance is 30 pips, and the move value is $150 (30 pips x $5.00 per pip)
Why this matters: Knowing your pip value before entering a trade tells you exactly what your stop loss and take profit are worth in dollar terms. A 50-pip stop on 0.50 lots costs you $250. That number should match your risk plan.
